My Philosophy...
My teaching philosophy is to try and find the best way to communicate to my students within the 4 types of learning strategies. I will ask you how you feel that you learn best and adapt my teaching to accommodate as best as possible. We all learn in different ways and at different paces so I like to start with a verbal explanation of the current task followed by a visual demonstration. I feel that seeing what is the desired outcome is the best place to start from a learning foundation to be built upon. My Story...
My name is Nathaniel Frank, I go by Nate, Nathaniel, or Frank, just never Nathan. I am 32 years old and spent most of my life in the state. I graduated from Anchor Bay in 2009 and joined the USAF in 2012. My first job was to be a Survival instructor which gave me my love for the outdoors and my first introduction into leatherwork. I have lived in WA and FL for the better part of my military career before coming back to MI in 2016. I earnestly started my interest in leatherwork at the end of 2018 after a trip to a Tandy leather for a ornament making class. What started as a $40 hobby kit off of amazon quickly turned into a large investment and my own small business. Leatherwork for me is my passion and my relaxation. This craft has taken me to places I never would have thought possible, from the career I have now to getting the opportunity to teach. |
